New Ipod video and recording lectures

well oviously im university student. but i was wondering if the new ipod video is able to record lectures... like if i baught an adaptable mic from mac..

You know what? I've tried just plugging a mic into my old iPod and it supposed to open a hidden menu called: Voice Recordings, says many people, but I couldn't get it to open. Too bad they still don't make iTalks. Just use your PB for that.

ye but i really dont feel like bringing my pb for certain lectures.. i guess i will just invest in one and see what happens

The old iPods could record with a certain adapter for microphones.
It used an extension jack on the old iPods that the new ones don't have.

Basically I think you'll have to wait until new adapters are released that record through the dock connector...

I'm looking too

I've loosely thought about temporary hacks to accomplish this while I wait for official solutions. Has anyone tried any hacks that work? Where could I find specs for the dock connector detailed enough for hacking purposes?

you can still record i think, i think it just must be a powered mic, as the top outpout does not have power
