Replacing Hard disk apple or 3rd party?

I'm replacing my iMac (2007) hard disk because it broke. The repair people told me I could either order one from apple or buy one from a third party. I was wondering if I should opt for the apple hard disk or the 3rd party one - and if the 3rd party which one would you recommend?

Apple doesn't make hard drives, they just resell the major brands.

Hard drives are subject to favoritism and brand loyalty/disloyalty. My recommendation is to find a decent computer parts shop or website in your country, and get whatever is the best price in the size and speed you are looking for.
