I got the white screen of death on this 8gb ipod that I have... Its a hardware problem, it got dropped and has never worked since. The ipod still works; i can opreate blindly. It also shows up on iTunes. Restoring, resetting, and rebooting the ipod hasn't worked, i didn't think it would. I got the ipod without a digitizer or screen, so i bought them off amazon.com and replaced it. Im not sure if the screen is broken, or if the board is messed up...

It is most likely the screen that is messed up if you did not replace the LCD. I not it is the board. You would be better off getting a new iPod.
