ibook quirk

hey

my ibook sleeep goes out when i put it to sleep
- anybody know how to fix this as it did not used to happen.

it sleeps ok then after a minute or son of closing the lid the light goes out

any help

Does this happen only when you put the 'book to sleep w/ the lid closed? In other words if you put it to sleep with the lid open, does it stay asleep?

If so, then perhaps the lid is contacting a keyboard key when the lid closes. Next time when the sleep light goes out peek in the crack and see if it looks like the screen lit up - thus the 'book is not asleep.

Are you putting the 'book to sleep then closing the lid? OR are you closing the lid, and the iBook goes to sleep automatically? If the latter, check to see if the little lid latch on the front edge of the lid is actually latching. iBook cases have been known to get slightly warped - the lid and base not meeting perfectly and the lid does not latch propery. This will prevent the 'book from sleeping.
