Hello,

It's more than capable of this perhaps we can help you do this if you explain what's not working for you and any errors you may be getting.

As I say above I think it's best to resolve the iMovie issue. But Movie Maker will let you add a music track, so long as the format you've put your video in is readable by Movie Maker. What format is the video in?

Basically Im trying to upload the movie to Facebook and Youtube

When I try to do so its saying there are copyright issues with the song.

If I make a movie using Windows Movie Maker I dont get this problem.

So I either need to find a way to get around this using IMovie

OR

Find out how to edit the movie in Windows Movie Maker and save it in this format in order to upload it to Facebook.

I have downloaded AVS Converter however its saying 'file format error'

Hopefully this is a little clearer?

Thanks :)

This is your problem, not the applications.

Both YouTube and Facebook use software to detect copyright audio and video material. If it's 'slipping past' using WMM then you've been 'lucky' so far.

Either way, you shouldn't be using copyrighted material without the express permission of the owner. Once you have this you can contact Facebook and YouTube to arrange the upload.

People upload thousands of videos to Youtube everyday without any problem, there must be a way to edit an IMovie using Windows Movie Maker?

Anyone with any ideas on how to do this?

Easy fix: Replace your music with Creative Commons. I've been doing this or a long time now and have no issues at all. Before I had problems where music got muted or didn't play in certain countries. Also: Using CC gives the artists some fame and I've found over the past years that there is some fantastic stuff out there. I'm using this site to search for tracks: ccMixter - Welcome to ccMixter

...remember: Even if a wmv file let's you upload your video to FB or YT, there is no guarantee that it will stay up there and the owner could come back to you to make you pay for copyright infringements..
