I hope I am posting this in the correct area:

Hello there,
I have this problem with a program called 'letter opener'
Have tolerated it for five months now - and going cuckoo :'(

I downloaded this program here:
Download Letter Opener for Mac - Extracts attachments from winmail.dat files (was OMiC). MacUpdate.com

The program seemed incompatible for mail 5.1.
After I trashed the program,
(I do not remember it having an uninstall option, I just moved everything that had 'letter opener' to trash).
I found this pop up consistently appearing when I start up mail:

Mail has disabled the following plug-ins:
Letter Opener
Contact the makers of these plug-ins for versions that are compatible with Mail 5.1 and Message 5.1.
Since then, I emailed the developers but simply got no reply.

I do not wish to use this program nor its new version.
How do I get rid of this annoying pop up and bouncing icon?
Help !
Thanks.

Hello harryb2448,

Am still getting used to Mac so could you please let me have exact route to
'removing all those left over preferences, .plists etc.' ?

I do not have App Trap anymore - but have App Cleaner, does that help?

I went to your suggested link, followed the instructions, but could not find any file related to letter opener on my HD :[

Thanks muchly,

Cannot help with App Cleaner but it may do the same jov.

If you are in doubt, download again, open and see if an uninstaller is included. If so, install, then run the uninstaller.
