Hi,

I'm trying to extend my wireless network from my apartment to my pool deck for a BBQ so I can stream iTunes directly from my iMac.

I have an airport extreme base station with MY airport express serving as the first network extender. I can get pretty close to the area I want my network to cover, but I had to borrow another airport express from a friend so I could get to exactly where I needed to be to plug the audio cable in to my speakers.

In trying to add the second airport express, I continually get to the very end of the setup and I get the "unexpected error message". I cannot seem to get past this point.....I followed the exact same steps as I the other airport.....I'm just baffled as to why I can't add an additional extender.

Anyone have any good ideas?

Performa 6116 2GBSCSI 8MB OS 7.5.3
Are the AE's the same hardware version and software version?

What about making the failing one the first extension?
