old mac sitting what to do with it?

My first macbook is just sitting there doing nothing its an. 2.0 dual core santa rose mid or late 2009.

My baby my first mac ever. It randomly started beeping 9 times, i went to apple they sent it in for repair. they said there was drop damage when i clearly remember never dropping it.

What should i do with it?


look for a logic for self repair?
so i have a second mac.

or just sell it for the parts?

now i have the 15 inch late 2011 pro its incredible.

i could use the second mac it would very nice to have.

Does it still beep? Are you sure it's 9 beeps?
I have the same machine here and it was doing 3 or 4 beeps in a row
it was bad RAM.

send me the sound yours doing ill compare it to mine. this is what mine does.

Can't send you the sound as it's fixed. It was like 3 of those beeps and a pause and 3 more. 3 is bad RAM banks. 4 is Bad ROM. I have never heard that many before on any system.

it hundred percent sounds like my is saying to me sos. Apple is about slap in the face with repair prices. i guess it was right.

i tried turning it on with the stock ram of 2 gigs and the 4 gb i got from crucial. it still did it. i am going to try my friends ram.

if i can fix it somehow i would enjoy the second mac A LOT!!!!!
