Hi,

I bought a Powerbook G4, Lion Os 10.4 of the charity shop and i'm trying to set up a internet conection.

I've conected the RJ45 cable between the Mac and the router. When i try to conect to it it shows the following message " the alias "xx" could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found" with the dead end options "delete alias" "fix Alias" and "ok" all useless!!!

HELP PLEASE!!

much apreciate it

G'day and welcome to the forums.

What encryption does the connection use? Some early Macs cannot handle WPA Personal, only WEP which is a pretty weak encryption.

Hi,

I got it in the end. Went round and round, hit with my head in the wall and found a solution. had too many internet conections in the preferences so had to delete all of them and search for a new one automaticly.

thanks for the tip for the discs. i normally do anyways :)
