Hi all,

Just bought a brand new Macbook Pro 13". Decided I'd join a forum to get acquainted with Macs because I just switched over from windows. I'm just wondering, as far as customising goes, what can I do to spice up my Mac a bit? Is it possible to change the 'grayscale' toolbars and the upper bar(for lack of a better name). I'm not very good at using the actual interface and all the little perks of Macs but I guess I'll learn over time.

Happy so far :)

Brad.

Welcome to the Mac Forums!

I would leave everything alone for the time being until you become more familiar with the Mac operating system and your new MBP. You've plenty of time later on to customize it to your heart's content. There are several good freeware programs which can be downloaded that will aid you in the customization.

Thanks for the reply,

Is there any way in particular I can become more familiar with the system(tutorials), or just through general use will my skills develop. The interface is quite different to PC's. I've realised so far how to scroll up and down pages using two fingers, you can go to a previous webpage by sliding across and back.

Quite impressed :D

As instructors like to say... Practice makes perfect. :) Go to our "Switcher" forum and read through the Sticky Posts at the top of the forum. I believe you'll find them useful in helping you wade through the newness.

Mac OS X is an intuitive operating system. Most things are easy to do but different. All a matter of getting used to. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Our members are always ready to give assistance.

Another thing you can do is search for Mac tutorials on YouTube. I've found quite a few good ones on there as a new user. Hope you enjoy it.
