Does anyone know the Mac requirements for the new 1080p format in iTunes? My "TV" Mac is a 2009 Mac Mini with 2.53ghz Core2Duo and 9400m running Lion. I'm pretty sure it should manage 1080p, but I cannot exact minimum specs.

I think your machine IS the minimum spec, actually.

I mean, I can "play" 1080p files on my 2007 BlackBook but it's not a smooth experience so for all intents and purposes 720p is all I can muster (which btw plays fine even on a second monitor).

This Support Discussion suggests that a Core i3 and the attendant video card (which I think is an Intel 3000) would be the minimum for "no dropped frames."

I did some digging, and apparently the 9400m should decode 1080p with no issues, but that might be the larger low complexity files.

I think I am just going to have to test it out.
