I have an iPad2 and an iMac --- how do I sync the mail accounts? I know I have to somehow convert MSN to IMAP but I don't know how

I don't believe it's possible at this current time, although if Microsoft have any sense, they would make it so in the near future.

I'd happily be proven wrong though, because this is something I'd be interested in achieving.

EDIT - If you tick this box within Mail Preferences, it will remove the message from the server. That means it will remove it from your iPad once it's been received at your iMac. Doesn't mirror the behaviour of an IMAP account, as messages won't be stored on your iPad AND your iMac at the same time.

Thanks much --- now allow me to push you a little further ---- I thought the whole idea of Apple to Apple devices was so they could "talk" to each other. All of my emails for the past several years have been xxxx.msn.com. If the MSN server won't allow an IMAP account, do i now have to convert everything to a new email address?

Short answer; yes.

The problem isn't with Apple, it's Microsoft. Well, Hotmail actually, but if you want your stuff to 'talk to each other' in the form of IMAP, you're gonna have to switch emails, or wait till Hotmail changes servers.

Sorry.
