Hi all,

I've been offered a used but new condition iMac 27" core 2 duo with 8gb ram, 1TB hard drive and 3.06ghz for £800. Does that sound like a good deal?

I'll be running CS4 design packages on it and just wondered whether I would be better going for a new quad core machine at £1400?

Thoughts?

It does sound like a good deal..how old is the machine? Make sure that you get all the original discs that came with the iMac..

The newer i5 and i7 based iMac's do have a performance advantage over the Core2Duo/i3 based iMac's..and my advise has always been to buy the MOST computer you can buy based on your budget..

So if you can do the 1400 Euro, then that might a better option..
