I am running leopard 10.5.8 and have been searching for a decent tool or app to let me customize my wallpaper/background. I want something that I can place my own image on and have items such as iCal, iTunes, Clock on the wallpaper behind my icons, pages etc..

I have seen "GeekTool" and seems to be what i'm looking for but unfortunately it is not compatible with versions other than 10.6 and up. PLEASE save me from more countless hours of finding and deleting pointless, non-useful apps!
