I have tried many times to stop a number of applications from opening on login. I went to System Preferences, opened my account, clicked on login items and deleted any applications I don't want to open. But they still keep coming up (specifically, Powerpoint, Word, Real Player, Bridge, Stickies and a few others. Then I save the changes but they keep opening on login. Do I have to quit these applications before I restart? I never had this problem before I started running Lion.

Thanks!

Using OS X Lion?

Open System Preferences, General. Remove the check from the box that says:

"Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps"
