adobe cs5 will not install on iMac

I have tried to install CS5 on my machine with the design standard disc. The message " the media type is not supported " comes up when I try to install CS5. Any ideas?

You didn't tell us anything about the Mac model and what version OS X?

Lion version 7 iMac 21 inch

Yep, because both CS5 and CS5.5 installed just fine on Lion for me.

What version of CS5 are you trying to install? Windows or OSX?

It is the mac version and it is a cd. Our tech support guy at work has installed it at work but they are still using Leopard. I am in Education and need a copy on my home machine for work. The Acrobat disc loaded up without a problem.

Well there's your problem -- you're using a pirated copy. Adobe doesn't ship CS on CD.

Sorry it a was DVD ! It is a Genuine product. I am sure someone has had a similar issue! I have
Googled it and nothing has come up!
