I have a Quickstar G4. I want to clone the drive. Since I do not have an external drive, I want to clone with the drives internal. Must I make one master, the other slave,Must I partition and clean the drive to which I clone before I start? I have CCC
Thanks

It's a good idea to, but I think CCC may erase the destination drive before it begins the clone. Pretty sure SuperDuper does erase first.

Both applications (SuperDuper and CCC) will erase the drive first. A warning is issued by CCC (I don't use SuperDuper). Also note that both applications require that the drive be formatted to Mac OS Extended Journaled. Since you have a G4, you'll need to use an older version of CCC so be sure to look for a version that's compatible on their web site.
