Anyone know any external SSD out there to be used as a file media backup. I have found that many of the rotation HDD can fail after 5 years or so leaving old backed up videos and media lost short of major data recovery. The SSD option is nice as it is more stable though more expensive. Any links would be appreciated.

Way... way too many specs to list.
... and just as slow as a rotational drive. Personally, I'd do external RAIDed rotational drives LONG before I'd go SSD, unless you're going eSATA or Thunderbolt.

Other than that, any SATA SSD drive should fit into an external chassis.

Keep in mind that SSD drives still fail.

I haven't even seen a Thunderbolt external chassis. There are a FEW available, but all fully populated. Not sure if any are SSD though.
