New OS 10.7.3 Shut Down without the check mark

I just upgraded to OS 10.7.3 and I like most of it, BUT I find the check mark at shut down really annoying. The one that asks if you want to reopen all your windows. Is there a way of leaving this permanently unchecked? I keep forgetting to uncheck it on shut down and it slows down both the shut down and the start up. Any advice?

No way to default it to unchecked, but you can disable it entirely:
