Has anyone else experienced this?

The apple logo, obviously from the light on the top of the macbook has burned into my screen so when the screen is off, or dim, I can see where the apple logo has burned.

I doubt that that is what you are seeing as LCDs and LEDs aren't (as far as I know subject to burn in). That is a problem with Plasma displays.

Possibly light diffusing through the Logo causing an image shadow?

EDIT: try covering the Logo and see if the image goes away.
