I have recently had an issue with my macbook pro failing to present its screen when opened from a sleep.

When I open the screen from previously closing it temporarily I can here that it is running, but it does not light up.
I can manually shut it down to restart again, but this is not a suitable solution.

I can only find forums alike this from 2008 and wonder if there are new solutions.

I know it might sound like a dumb question, but are you sure the brightness is turned up?

Yes the screen goes completely black and brightness is not related, sorry
It is an intermittant problem, so testing any solutions seems tricky as well. But perhaps being prepared for the next time will be enough

Have you tried messing with the power options in settings to see if you can make the screen not auto dim or such? Could fix the problem.
