iPhone 4S .m4r Ringtones not showing on Phone!!

So, I got a ringtone from the web in .m4r format and downloaded it. I then dragged it over to my iTunes under the "iPhone" tab and it seemed to sync fine. It shows under the 'tones' tab.

But, when I go into the phone to change the ringtone, it's not there!

Help? :/

Have you verified that you have checked the box for that ring tone ( or all ring tones) to have iTunes sync it?

Hi,

It seems that Apple limit the number of custom ringtones you can have - see Apple Limits iPhone Ringtone Automatic Sync - Softpedia - although it's an old link it may still be the case.

Manually selecting the remaining ringtones for sync appears to cure this problem.
