Hello to all,

I'll be receiving my new (used) mini in the next couple of days. My question involves my ext. hard drive.

It is formatted in NTFS. My goal is to use this as my backup drive, once I move all my pics, iTunes, and docs. to mac mini.

My question is: Will I have to do anything other than drag and drop to desktop, the existing files on the ext. hdd.? I understand that I will have to reformat the external drive to use as backup. Just don't know if I can move files from external without problems.

I would also like to thank all of the volunteers who give their time to this very helpful site. Look forward to learning alot.

Thanks Dave

You should be able to drag and drop the files with no trouble. I've done it numerous times. The only times I have had a problem is if the file was already corrupted or the drive was failing.
