Hi all

I tried to backup my Macbook Pro using Time Machine but it hanged after 20 minutes of backing up.

I couldn't Force Quit from the menu bar - coloured wheel happening' there too.

Needed to reboot from the on button (which I hate to do. Does this harm my MBPro?)

Is there any other way to do a full backup of Macbook Pro as I think it may need a service.

Have recently had issues with iTunes crashing my laptop and now my startup appears a little on the slow side (get the blue screen for quite a while before the login screen appears).

Any ideas?

thanks
K.

You can use Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) or SuperDuper to clone your hard drive.

As for your issues, have you tried repair permissions and clearing caches?

In addition to what Stretch suggested run Disk Utility and have it verify your boot drive to see if there are any directory errors. If there are let it attempt to repair them.

Thanks guys. I have run a check on my hard drive and there were a few permissions that needed repairing but otherwise all was fine.

Will do another check for directory issues.

Thanks for that.
