I have a Samsung Smart TV that I would like to mirror the display of my MacBook Pro I purchased a mini port HDMI connector. When I select the appropriate source, the MacBook's workspace screen is displayed without any icons or the Doc. I can open an application on the MacBook screen and drag it over to the TV and it will function. The sound will come out of the MacBook if it is a movie, but I would like to mirror the images on the MacBook and the TV if possible. I expected that to happen using an HMDI connector, but that is not what is happening. Can someone provide assistance?
