Skype won't open?

When I click on it, it bounces around in the dock then opens 'problem report for skype' and 'skype quit unexpectedly'. I've tried re-downloading it but it's still the same, please help??

I am a systems admin and have a user with the same issue. I have run the mac cleaner app which removed any and all skype files, and I have run the disk permissions utility - neither of them worked. Is there maybe a place where I can download the previous release of Skype?

Running OSX Leopard 10.6.8

The older versions of Skype did not work. I tried them that same day. Does anybody have any other ideas? I haven't heard the user bring it up in days, however I would still like a solution.
