If mass producing retina displays of this size is feasible, retina MacBook Air screens can't be that far off.

Now that would be amazing. All my moaning about Lion, and ML (probably) being "too much" for my miniscule 2 gig of Ram,on my "Air",means a definite upgrade for me,if it happens of course.

Why all this fuss about Retina Display. Would it not be more important to have more ram and faster processor?

Well seeing the iPad 2 had more RAM, and a faster processor than the iPad 1, that's a safe bet. I sincerely doubt Apple would release the iPad 3 with the same specs as the 2.

Many folk were hankering after a high res screen, and this confirms it.

Why all this fuss about Retina Display.
Using my iPhone 4 and then using my cousin's iPad I can see the difference in sharpness right away. The iPhone screen is too small for long term reading and browsing so a retina iPad screen would be very nice to have.

Too many...
While this new iPad will be enticing, I am more looking forward to the new notebooks...they better have some fine resolution screens too!
