Where is my Harddrive Space?

I am trying to find out why I am constantly running out of room.
I go to finder, my user and there are my 3 "folder" (App, Desk, Doc, Lib...)

If I select each one individually and "get info" I only come up with 56 gigs (that is including the 28 gigs of music and 10 gigs of movies...)

So my question is... where are the other 24 gigs of my 80 gig harddrive?

Am I missing something here?

Do you have any "Previous Systems" from archiving and installing? Also there wouldn't be 24GB left on an 80GB if 56 are used - it'd be more like 74.5GB.

I believe there is also a couple gigs devoted to the OS. Hope some of this helps

Disk Inventory X will show you where all your space has gone.

check versiontracker for it

That or 'Whatsize' - also available on versiontracker.com

If you want to free up some additional space, you can remove unused language profiles that might have been installed with your system.
'Delocalizer' can find & remove these.
