drag and drop pictures

Hi!
something annoying that I can't find to help myself with is the drag-and-drop style in OS X, or mac in general. Especially with large pictures that I drag out of a browser and try to hit the small Download-folder in my dock. The pictures are blocking the cursor and I have a hard time hitting my targets. Any way around this? i.e. "drag pictures as icons" option or something? thanks!

I just drag the image by the corner nearest the folder and when you get over the folder it will higlight and the name will pop up so you can see it.
