iPad remote control

My TV is on my wall opposite my bed. My iPad is plugged into my tv and stored next to it. I use it to watch Netflix and slingplayer on my TV. I need an app to make my iPhone control my iPad so don't have to get out of bed and change the channel.

Can anyone suggest an app to make this happen?

Get an Apple TV and control this one with your iPad?

I forgot they do that mirroring thing and AirPlay....
