wi fi keeps disconecting

i have a i mac that only recently in the last two weeks keep disconnecting from my wi fi router can any one help it reconnects when i go through the diagnostics

What OS are you running on the iMac? What router do you have? Is the firmware up to date on the router? What changed in the past two weeks? How long have been using WiFi with this iMac?

Hi the only change in that time is that i have purchased the software to run word which i have installed the router works fine with my pc computer and also runs fine with my mac pro which also has the word software installed at the same time so no common link.

Now that you mention it , it does tend to do it when it goes to sleep but it reconnects very simply through the diagnostics

I have found that if you setup your network settings for the router in the location called automatic (its a pull doen menu in the network prefs pane) then the mac auto reconnects to the network when waking from sleep
