Opening web pages with Automator

I'm trying to create a workflow that will open Safari, go to Gmail, log in my username and password and press enter/click on Sign In.

Watch Me Do doesn't even get s far as opening Safari, and doing it manually I can't work out how to click on fields and then enter text.

Can anyone explain this to me, or point me to a tutorial that covers this?
