I have no idea what these Console messages mean. Are they bad?

So, among other messages, tihs keeps repeatedly popping up:
"2/13/12 1:18:40 PM qmasterqd[466] CNetworkUtils::getLocalNetworkHostName: unknown local host name - this should never happen!"

as does

2/13/12 1:18:40 PM com.apple.qmaster.qmasterd[51] 2012-02-13 13:18:40.344 qmasterqd[466:3273] CNetworkUtils::getLocalNetworkHostName: unknown local host name - this should never happen!"

I'm also getting a lot of:
"2/13/12 4:29:57 PM Google Chrome[156] Cannot find function pointer CMPluginInFactory for factory 3487BB5A-3E66-11D5-A64E-003065B300BC in CFBundle/CFPlugIn 0x14294dd0 </Users/oxband/Library/Contextual Menu Items/Google Notifier Quick Add CM Plugin.plugin> (not loaded)"

Anyone have any idea what these are about?

Do you have the GMail notifier plugin installed in Chrome or attempted to install it?

I couldn't find anything about your issue on google but as it says "unknown local host name" it might be worth a try to assign a new hostname to your mac.

System Name can be set under "Preferences" -> "Sharing", and the hostname setting is under "Edit..." in the same window. (to be sure, do a reboot when you are done)

Another thing worth checking, might be your hosts file under /etc/hosts. Its contents should look like this:

##
# Host Database
#
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
##
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
fe80::1%lo0 localhost

To view your hostfile, open a terminal window and enter "nano /etc/hosts". To exit nano, hit Ctrl-X.

It looks the GMail notifier is causing the problem. Try removing it temporarily to see if the error clears. Let us know.

So, I uninstalled and installed it and i'm getting the same message:

2/14/12 2:38:06 PM Google Chrome[11783] Cannot find function pointer CMPluginInFactory for factory 3487BB5A-3E66-11D5-A64E-003065B300BC in CFBundle/CFPlugIn 0x32ef50 </Users/oxband/Library/Contextual Menu Items/Google Notifier Quick Add CM Plugin.plugin> (not loaded)

It sure looks like the notifier is still causing the error. Try running Chrome without any extensions or plug ins and the notifier to see what happens.
