So i completely removed everything to do with Snow leopard from my computer formatted and partitioned my hard drive, i installed windows vista onto my mabook.

After about a week my computer started crashing and wasn't working how the mac should do so i went to install Snow Leopard again. put my disc in restarted holding down 'C' and it came to the spinning wheel screen, and it just sticks their and eventually turns its self off.

I've tried 'CMD+S' and 'CMD+V' but i never get any closer to getting Snow leopard installed. if anyone can help me out please let me know what to do.

Reset the PRAM first and then proceed with installing Snow Leopard. See this Apple KB article: LINK

I bet its because you had to format the drive for Windows if you go back and format the drive for Mac it should let you use the SL disk.

He still should be able to boot with the DVD regardless of how the hard drive is formatted. That is provided he's using the correct DVD and the optical drive is working?

i'm using the restore disk that came with the computer, i've also tried using the two discs i got with my old mac. E.g. Disc 1 and Disc 2.. and my super drive does work because it boots windows ISO disc on it works fine. just does let me run the mac discs, but it could be damaged... so if you know where i can download it free from let me know please.... thanks
