connecting to internet using bluetooth ?

i need help, i bought a usb bluetooth adapter with the hope of connecting to the internet via my bt home hub. however after inserting the bluetooth adapter i have no idea what to do. all the info i could find on the internet said connect to your phone and go from there but that would mean using my 3g internet that i pay for right ? if anyone could help out it would be much appreciated.

What type of router are you using at home for this home hub thing? Yes if you connect it up to your phone then you would be using your phones 3G data, are you sure your home router has a bluetooth antennae?
