I just purchased this mouse, and it doesn't work. The Logitech control center does not recognize it. I can move the mouse pointer around, but the buttons don't work. Any suggestions?

The Logitech Control Center doesn't work. You need to uninstall it and install USB Overdrive (google it)

I have the same mouse. the MX518 is not supported by any Mac drivers. You have to get the free program called USB Overdrive. It'll create a new pane in system preferences, and from there you can customize what each button does. Note that if you want a button to carry out the function of a key that normally automatically does stuff (like the F keys), you'll have to press the key while holding option to get the program to recognize it.
