Hi all,

I have a mid 2009 13" Macbook Pro. I am replacing the Hard Drive and have the following questions:

1. I plan on rebooting using my original OS disk but I am somewhat confused on when I actually insert the disk. I am assuming I insert the disk before shutting the computer down for the last time so it will be in the drive when I reboot. Is this correct?

2. I am installing a 320GB/5400 WD Scorpio Blue Hard Drive. Any comments on this particular drive.

Thanks

yes i would place the install disc in then shut down.

remove old hard drive and replace with new.

boot up hold option and choose cd( maybe will detect it automatically)

choose disk utility and format the way you want the hard drive. Once thats done exit that and continue install.
