Possible to EQ the audio output

Hey all. I was wondering if it is somehow possible to EQ the audio output other for things like streaming pandora. Is this possible? Thanks for the help.

Nothing built-in for non-iTunes stuff, but you can either invest in a third-party audio enhancer like iWow OR you can pipe the sound from [application] into Rogue Amoeba's $32 Audio Hijack Pro and add a EQ plug-in and tinker to your heart's content.

I had heard about the audio hijack, but was hoping for something cheaper and simpler. I wound up finding boom. It is jsut what I want, a cheap basic adjustable eq. I have no need for a recording software right now. But thanks for the advice.
