Im using a new mac mini with a flat extended wired keyboard.

Just recently after updating to 10.6.8 my mouse cursor will freeze while online no matter what browser i am using.

I then need to relaunch finder thru a force quit, unplug my mouse from the keyboard and once again relaunch finder before the cursor unfreezes and moves again.

Is this a software issue? A virus? Problem with my keyboard?

Please help if you can. This problem is driving me nuts!

Thanks so much!

Sounds like a software problem to me.
You may need to reinstall 10.6. But try some generic troubleshooting first.

Repair your hard drive. Use one of the three methods here to repair the drive:
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck

If that doesn't help, Go to system preferences and create a new User. Log out then back in as that User. Does it happen there?

Actually I ran disk utility and repaired permissions as well as zapped the Pram.
Downloaded a new browser after and the problem still persists.

24 hours ago i started using a wireless mouse and it has not frozen up even once so far, knock on wood.

Im guessing perhaps the usb ports on my keyboard where my mouse was plugged into must be bad or something. Perhaps its time for a new keyboard.

Thanks for your help!
