Not entirely sure this is the best place to ask this, but seems close enough.
My '09 MBP's hard drive, which has a bootcamp partition on it, failed last week. I do have backups of most of the important information on the hard drive, but there were a few pretty vital documents that got lost because they were created in between scheduled backups.
At any rate, in an effort to recover those few files that didn't make it into the most recent backup, I took out the hard drive and hooked it up via USB like an external drive to my new MBP to try and extract the files myself (a tactic which has worked for me in the past).
This worked, sort of. I was able to read the hard drive and extract files...but only from the windows partition. This is problematic because the files I really need to get back are on the OSX partition, and I haven't been able to find any suggestions on how to get this fixed.
Any thoughts are much appreciated.
