Good afternoon,

I currently have Mac OS X 10.4.11 (8S165). Is there any software upgrade for my machine? And if so, where can I obtain?

I have the following:

Machine Name: iMac G5
Machine Model: PowerMac12,1
CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (3.1)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 2.1 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 512 MB
Bus Speed: 700 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 5.2.6f1

If you can tell me what I need and any upgrade in memory to do it, I will be greatly appreciative.

Thank you,

milesgold

The black and purple full retail install DVD only and not the silver/grey model specific discs. Auction sites such as eBay sell them for around the $100 mark.

You might be better off saving the money towards a new Mac with the latest software. Your old iMac is not going to start performing better over time. Eventually, all computers become obsolete. If it can't do something you'd like to do, it's time. Moving up from Tiger to Leopard might delay the day of reckoning, but it's coming.
