Yes mate its fine. The Combo Update holds every update to and including the latest 10.7.3. Run it and all should be fine at the end.

Cheers

blasphemer!!! :)

"Best get out and back before the snow then Nelson Weather Forecast and Conditions

Cheers

Hugh"

Ha Ha...that was an utter nonsense. -1 deg celsius on the course, windy, temporary greens and putting out on lumpy ice. Still, I got 3 pints of Guinness in the clubhouse with my mates.
Now raining in frozen droplets..not quite snow, not quite hail.

I'm sure it's colder in BC chas_m.. ?

Couldn't resist the Mac though:)

I tried the update site earlier and it was returning a null locale..methinks Apple locked it down. Will try again tomorrow as beer and software update don't mix.

That's downright balmy. That's no winter.

Pfft, BC is even worse. I'm surprised they even know what the word winter means. ;)

Yes I know, we're all big wusses here :D

But if we do get the promised 4" I will take my quad bike out for a spin and see how she handles it

Cheers :)

I tried software-update the other day and saw a ~1gb file size. Read about the woes and decided to wait a bit. Tried today…and the file size was now ~1.3gb. Proceeded and no issues at all. Perhaps Apple bumped things up to a more complete set of files.

It's possible that Apple is now just pushing out the combo update to prevent these weird errors that people are seeing. It's a good way to ensure that users don't experience this problem.

I think... hugthelsug...this translates into Britspeak as "come and have a go if you think you're 'ard enough".
Van, I forgot to mention I played golf today in shorts and a tee shirt.

Oh yeah, you definitely don't have winter in the UK then. Only crazy people go out in shorts this time of year. ;)

OSX Lion Update

I have just updated to Lion 10.7.3 and I now have problems re-connecting to WiFi when waking up from 'Sleep'. Everything was fine before but now after the update my week old iMac is not working properly.

Has any one else had this problem and have you managed to fix it?

I have read and heard the other way around , that the update fixed a lag in reconnecting to WiFi after sleep, not creating a lag.

One of my colleagues in Canada confirmed this .... She has seen a polar bear carrying a stove, so it must be cold. :)
Last night we had -18 Celsius in Belgium, no wind however. At noon it was -11.

Are we hijacking this thread ?

Cheers ... McBie

I'm not sure if my old statement was right but according to this article, the package has been silently updated by Apple. It looks as if they found the issue and have made changes to prevent it from affecting those who have not yet updated.

No you're not McBie....I had some update issues but posted that I couldn't do anything yesterday on my iMac because I was playing golf instead...then the mickey taking started about the weather.

I have now managed to update with the Combo version from the Apple Support/Downloads page, installing over the one originally downloaded by the Software Updater and my problems appear to have melted away.

I was out doing a job of work today surveying some multi-occupancy business premises and the first tenant's door I knocked on was an APPLECARE repair business.

Needless to say my mundane visit turned into a Macfest!!

Now, I got talking about this update issue and they were absolutely adamant that I should steer well clear of what they referred to as 'Delta' updates , or the one's pushed from 'Software Update' and ONLY download those from the Apple Support Downloads page and COMBO versions wherever possible and NOT IMMEDIATELY after they are released.

In their opinion the latest initial update was disappointing and it was rapidly pulled off the shelf by Apple until they got it right (ish).

Apart from the issues I reported earlier, I've also had a kernel panic when doing an initial TM back up with a new external HD . TM appeared to finish the job after I restarted the Mac but in their opinion they advised me to wipe the external HD and do the back up again from scratch because it would likely be corrupted.

I think I may now be ok..but that's a lesson learned.

I'm interested to know the logic behind this. While I agree with the "wait for a bit" argument, I'm not sure how a delta is any worse than a combo. Did they explain why?
