and it, of course, does not work with 10.7.2. I had upgraded my mid 2010 MB Pro 2.66 i7, 8 gig memory, from Snow Leopard to OS X Lion 10.7 a few days after it was released in June 2011. Have not had occasion to use Activity Monitor until today and it gives me a message that 10.6 will not work with Lion. Duh. I took the issue to the Apple Support Express Lane who suggested a PRAM reset which did not change anything.

Their next suggestion was to download OS X Lion again which, after advising me it would take 5 hours and 8 minutes to download timed out after an hour and a half. Still have the same issue

Anyone else experienced this?

I did a clean install of Lion about 3 months ago. It had Activity Monitor 10.7.

Way... way too many specs to list.
Yep, all my Lion machines have Activity Monitor, 10.7. All clean installs though.

One clean install and one upgrade... both currently show the Activity Monitor at 10.7.

Me too and just upgraded

last night to OS X 10.7.3 and the problem remains the same. Activity Monitor 10.6. Stumped the folks at Apple as well.

I guess I will look for some aftermarket software to give me the same assistance.

Instead of that, you might try the combo updater for 10.7.3. But be aware it's a large update at around 1.3 GB. Or, make a Time Machine backup, boot to the recovery partition, erase the drive, download Lion and install clean, restore from the Time Machine backup.
