External monitor for MBP

I'm redoing my room and getting a new desk. I'd like to purchase a reasonably priced external monitor for my 13'' 2011 MBP.

What should I look for and do you have any recommendations? What are some good brands? I'm thinking a 20'' one.

I like both BenQ and Viewsonic monitors but they're not exactly inexpensive. Otherwise, just drop in at your local Best Buy or Fry's, etc. and choose a monitor that's pleasing to you. I've got several Samsung monitors that I use on and off and while they're not top of the line, they look good. Not as bright and clear as my new iMac though.

I just bought an HP 2511x from BestBuy, then discovered HP doesn't support use with a Mac. It seems to work fine - no problems yet. Wakes up and goes to sleep like it should. I think it's a great monitor for an ok price. Complaints you see in reviews are to do with lack of speakers and glare from the glossy screen.

I am a big fan of Samsungs displays. they always seem the brightest, most well built of displays on the market.
