Easily cleaning up Mac

13" MBP - 2.7 Ghz, Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM.
What's an easy (and free) way to speed up a Mac in terms of deleting unused files, processes, etc.?

Honestly not much need for that. Keep at least 15% disk free space, download and run Onyx, and whatever you do stay away from MacKeeper.

Before I answered I wanted to see if there had been any recent changes to Onyx. Still the same, so yes, that is what I generally do, every couple of months.
