Hi

Yesterday the display on my MacBook Pro started flickering red intermittently. Today it is doing this permanently.

I read on another post that it could be that the video card is about to die.

I don't know if this would change the diagnosis but when I plugged my Mac into the TV it displayed perfectly on the TV (my MacBook display was still flickering).

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Its not a video card problem then, its an issue with the internal connection to the screen

What model and year MacBook Pro is it, then we can point you to an iFixit guide about how to disassemble the thing and get to the data cable that may be causing the issue

Go to iFixit: The free repair manual with you model number on hand. Look for the guide which shows how to replace the various data cables from the logic board to the LCD.
