I searched for info on this and amazingly didn't find specifics so here it goes.
I have an early 2008 White macbook I bought new. It has a factory 160gb 5400rpm hdd. I would like to upgrade to a larger faster hdd.
1.) What are the physical requirements for a new HDD i.e." size and interface?
2.) Is there a maximum rpm I can get, 7200rpm 10000rpm? Do the faster ones cause too much heat or some other problem I should be aware of?
3.) I will probably only go 320gb or possibly 500gb depending on price. I see myself getting a new MBP whenever they come out with retina display... Any recommendations on an optimal size?
Thanks!
