Hi All

I'm looking to purchase my first ever mac (15" macbook pro) in the very near future, mainly for music production and live performance. I will be using ableton live full suite of library sounds, plus a large library of other collections. I will also have a large library of music files for djing with.

1) Is there a new version of the 15" macbook pro due to be released in the near future? if so i assume it's best to wait until that's released.

2) Would it be best to get the most basic 15" macbook pro and then purchase the 8GB SDRAM and 512GB Solid State Drive separately from an external supplier as these are very expensive from Apple. If so, where would be the best place to purchase these and how easy are these to fit or would this be a specialist job?

3) Would it be worth paying the £190.00 for 2.5GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7 instead of the 2.4GHz?

4) Any other considerations prior to making a purchase?

Many thanks in advance

Thanks.
