- 27" iMac, i5, 2.83GHz, 8GB Ram; 17" MacBook Pro; iPad 3
I am running OSX 10.6.8 on a 27" iMac. I have my HDTV connected via the Mini DisplayPort. The only way I have been able to use my TV as a monitor (e.g., to play a movie on the iMac and watch it on the TV) is to mirror the displays.
The problem with this is that I can't use my iMac whenever I am doing this.
Is there a way to play a movie on the mac and output it to the TV while I am using the computer for something else?
