OS X will not boot after I used a LinuxMCE live CD. I did not use it to modify anything on the hard drive. Now when it boots, I get the apple logo and pinwheel for about a minute and then a circle with a slash through it. I also cannot boot from the LinuxMCE live CD or an Ubuntu live Cd. I can select partitions when booting, one is the main the other is a recovery partition, neither work. I have also tried booting to single user mode and it it keeps searching for root until I shut it down.
The laptop is the MacBook Aluminum Unibody, I replaced the stock hard drive with an Intel SSD.

By default a linux live-cd did not make any changes to you're system .
You are talking about recovery partition so you are using LION .
Do you still have a DVD of Snow Leopard or Leopard ?
If so try to boot from them and check SSD drive

Reset your PRAM. Booting with any Linux CD, live or not will sometimes cause the system not to boot. Resetting the PRAM usually fixes it.
